1. 陈发虎的个人履历

1984年毕业于兰州大学自然地理学专业，获学士学位，1987年获硕士学位，1990年获博士学位。1995-1997年英国利物浦大学地理系博士后。1990年起在兰州大学地理系任教，1992年任副教授，1994年任教授，1995年任自然地理学博士生导师。1998年任兰州大学地理系副主任，1999-2005年任资源环境学院院长，2005-2008年任教育部“985”二期“西北资源环境与生态”I类科技创新平台首席科学家，2005年起任西部环境教育部重点实验室主任，2007年任兰州大学副校长。曾多次在国外交流访问和工作。1991年10月-1992年4月访问英国莱斯特与利物浦大学地理系；1992年11月-1993年9月在英国伦敦大学Royal Hollyway学院第四纪研究中心、利物浦大学地质系和法国国家农业研究中心（INAR）土壤实验室工作；2001年11月-2002年4月作为客座教授在英国University College London（UCL）环境变化研究中心工作。任国际第四纪联合会（INQUA）RACHAD工作组主席和古气候委员会委员，国际地理联合会（IGU）土地退化和荒漠化委员会委员等，主持国际学术会议5次。

2. 陈发虎的研究成果

主要从事干旱-半干旱区的环境变化研究，在兰州大学建立了具有国际竞争力、稳定的地学研究群体。先后开展了西部黄土地层与黄土气候学、晚第四纪气候快速变化、全新世干旱事件、干旱区湖泊演化和西风区湿度变化等的研究工作。突出成果包括：1）系统开展了黄土高原西部地区的黄土地层、黄土沉积年代和气候记录研究，以西部地区典型的兰州九州台黄土剖面为基础，建立了适用于区域对比的黄土-古土壤序列，为轨道尺度气候多旋回理论的完善做出了重要贡献；2） 开展了末次冰期旋回冰期/间冰期状态的气候快速变化研究，较早提出中国末次冰期冬、夏季风均存在快速变化，但具有区域特色，气候快速变化幅度介于南北极之间；发现中国季风边缘区全新世气候也存在千-百年尺度的气候快速变化，表现为多次重大干旱事件，并具有全球联系；发现温暖的末次间冰期季风气候相对稳定，不存在国外报道的气候快速变化，为后来的国内外研究结果所证实。研究成果在国际学术界有较大影响；3）发现西风环流显著影响的亚洲中部内陆干旱区的湿度（降水）变化模式与季风气候存在显著差异，提出了在不同时间尺度上全新世气候变化的“西风模式”新观点；4）开展了中国中部沙漠区晚第四纪内陆湖泊和沙漠的演化历史，发现在河套平原存在晚第四纪的“吉兰泰-河套”古大湖。主持完成国家“973”项目的课题2项、国家自然科学面上和重点基金项目6项；参加完成“85”攀登项目等。国际自然科学基金重点项目1项、国家基金委创新群体基金1项。出版中英文专著（编辑）4部，编辑SCI刊物专辑2期。发表论文280多篇（部），其中在国际刊物如Science,Quaternary Science Reviews、Earth Science Reviews，PNAS,Palaeo-3、Catena等等刊物发表论文120多篇，被SCI刊物引用1150余次，第一作者单篇论文最高引用100多次。获省部级科技奖6项，其中一等奖3项，2007年获国家自然科学二等奖（第一完成人）。
